girl barcelona suitcase train station trip pack spain

Back in April/May, I spent a month in Valencia. I went there with a big suitcase full of clothes and ended up wearing half of what I brought with me... So here are my essentials, the things you REALLY need to bring when going on a trip to Spain in the Spring:

CLOTHES

  • Basic tee-shirts : choose some that can easily go with everything. White, black, grey...
  • Jeans : if you think you're going to be too warm, you're wrong! Some days in Spring can be a bit chilly. It even rained for three days straight when I was there! Plus, you can never go wrong with some skinny or boyfriend jeans.
  • Shorts, skirts, day dresses and playsuits : for the warm days. If you're going to Spain in March/April, don't bring any of those. I went in April/May and only wore shorts once. In May, it started to get really warm (just when I had to go home) so if you're going around that time, bring some!
  • Denim jacket / Blazer : any kind of jacket you can wear when it gets a bit chilly in the evening.
  • Swimsuit : if you're in a city where there are beaches or swimming pools! You're probably not going to go swim in the sea though, I found that the water was super cold. But you can definitely sunbathe. And don't forget to bring sunscreen!
  • Pajamas : you're not going to sleep in jeans, are you...

ACCESSORIES

  • Sunglasses : to protect your eyes from the sun.
  • Scarves : oh how I was happy to have a scarf with me! I thought I wasn't going to need one but I was so wrong. For the windy days or in the evening.
  • Crossbody bag : these kind of bags are my favorite. Perfect for tourist areas.
  • Sneakers : if you're going to do a lot of walking, bring a pair of comfortable but cute sneakers! Mine are black and go with everything.
  • Sandals/Flats : to wear during the day when it's warm outside. Boots aren't necessary.
  • Jewelry : rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces...
  • Hats : I personally don't like wearing hats, but if that's your thing, go for it! Wear one on sunny days or to the beach.

And of course, don't forget your phone, camera, chargers, underwear, beauty products etc... I hope this list will help you pack for your next trip to Spain in the Spring!
